Ingredients:

  • 2 lbs ground beef (80/20 blend)
  • 1 medium yellow onion, finely diced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can (15 oz) kidney beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1 can (15 oz) black beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1 can (28 oz) crushed tomatoes
  • 1 can (15 oz) tomato sauce
  • 1 packet (30g) beef chili seasoning
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper

Instructions:

  1. Place the raw ground beef at the bottom of the slow cooker and spread it into an even layer.
  2. Top the beef with the diced yellow onion and minced garlic.
  3. Pour the drained kidney beans and black beans over the aromatics, then add the crushed tomatoes and tomato sauce.
  4. Sprinkle the beef chili seasoning packet and black pepper evenly across the top.
  5. Cover with the lid and cook on High for 4 hours or Low for 7-8 hours.
  6. Approximately 30 minutes before serving, open the lid and use a sturdy spoon to break up the beef and stir the ingredients into a cohesive stew.
