Ingredients:
- 3 lbs peeled and cored apples
- 1/2 cup water
- 1 tbsp fresh lemon juice
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
- 2 tbsp maple syrup
- 1/4 tsp salt
Instructions:
- Peel, core, and chop the apples into uniform 1-inch cubes.
- Combine the apple cubes, water, lemon juice, and salt in a large heavy-bottomed pot. Cover and simmer over medium-low heat for 15–20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the apples are tender and translucent.
- Transfer the hot apple mixture into the food processor bowl and add the cinnamon, nutmeg, and maple syrup.
- Pulse in short bursts for a chunky style, or run on high for 30–60 seconds for a velvety, smooth consistency.
