Ingredients:

  • 1 lb hard pretzels (twists, nuggets, or sourdough chunks)
  • 1/3 cup vegetable or avocado oil
  • 3 tbsp honey
  • 2 tbsp Dijon mustard
  • 1 tsp dry mustard powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp smoked paprika

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 325°F (163°C). In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the vegetable oil, honey, and Dijon mustard until the mixture is a uniform, glossy emulsion.
  2. Add the hard pretzels to the bowl. Use a large spatula to fold and toss the pretzels continuously for at least 60 seconds to ensure the glaze fills all nooks and crannies and adheres to the smooth surface.
  3. Line a large rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone mat. Spread the coated pretzels in a single layer and bake for 15 minutes, tossing halfway through, until the glaze is mahogany-colored and set.
