Ingredients:

  • 1 cup (185g) Long-grain white rice
  • 1.5 cups (350ml) Filtered water
  • 1 tsp (5g) Unsalted butter
  • 0.5 tsp Fine sea salt

Instructions:

  1. Rinse the rice under cold running water in a fine-mesh strainer until the water runs clear to remove surface starch.
  2. Place the rinsed rice, water, salt, and butter into a deep microwave-safe bowl.
  3. Microwave the mixture uncovered on High (100% power) for 5 minutes until the water starts to vigorously bubble.
  4. Cover the bowl with a vented lid or a plate slightly offset. Change microwave setting to Medium (50% power) and cook for 10 minutes until most of the water is absorbed and small steam holes appear.
  5. Remove from microwave and allow the rice to rest, still covered, for 5 minutes.
  6. Remove the lid and fluff the grains gently with a fork before serving until they look light and airy.
