Ingredients:
- 1 lb Lean Ground Beef (90/10 ratio)
- 1 medium Yellow Onion, finely diced
- 1 tsp Kosher Salt
- 1/2 tsp Black Pepper, freshly cracked
- 1 tsp Garlic Powder
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1/2 cup Bisquick or original baking mix
- 1 cup Whole milk
- 2 Large eggs
- 1.5 cups Sharp Cheddar cheese, freshly shredded
Instructions:
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Place a 10-inch oven-safe skillet over medium-high heat.
- Add the ground beef and diced onion to the skillet. Cook for 7 to 9 minutes, breaking up the meat with a spatula until the beef is browned and the onions are translucent. Drain any excess rendered fat.
- Stir in the salt, pepper, garlic powder, and Worcestershire sauce. Spread the beef mixture into an even layer across the bottom of the pan.
- Sprinkle 1 cup of the shredded cheddar cheese over the beef.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the Bisquick, milk, and eggs until the mixture is mostly smooth with few lumps.
- Pour the batter slowly over the meat and cheese.
- Bake for 25 minutes until the top is golden brown and a knife comes out clean.
- Sprinkle the remaining 1/2 cup of cheese on top and let it melt for 2 minutes before slicing.
