This Privacy Policy explains what personal data Moral of Life (moraloflife.com) collects when you read recipes, use our forms or interact with our ads, why we collect it, how long we keep it and what choices you have. It applies to everything published on moraloflife.com. If anything here is unclear, you can reach us through the Contact Us page.

1) Information We Collect

We collect only the data needed to run the site, answer your messages and keep the site secure. It comes from the following sources:

• Contact form. When you write to us, we receive your name, email address and the message you type. We use this information only to reply to you.
• Recipe ratings and comments. If you rate a recipe or leave a comment, we receive the name you enter and the text you submit. Please do not include sensitive personal details in a comment, because comments may be displayed publicly on the recipe page.
• Server logs. Like most websites, our web server automatically records technical information such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you request. We use these logs for security and troubleshooting.
• Visit statistics. We keep basic first-party statistics on our own server: which page was viewed and the referring site. This tells us which recipes and categories readers use, so we can improve them.
• Cookies. Cookies are set by our advertising partner and by our content delivery and security provider. See section 3 below.

2) How We Use Your Information

• To reply to messages sent through the contact form.
• To display ratings and comments on recipe pages.
• To keep the site secure, diagnose errors and prevent abuse.
• To understand which pages are read, so we can improve recipes and navigation.
• To show advertising that helps fund the site (see section 3).

If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, our legal bases are: your consent (for personalized advertising and the cookies tied to it), our legitimate interests (security, troubleshooting and basic statistics) and, where you contact us, steps taken at your request to answer you.

3) Cookies, Advertising and Third-Party Services

Google AdSense

We display ads served by Google AdSense. Google and its partners use cookies to serve ads based on your visits to this and other websites. Personalized ads are shown only with your consent. Visitors from the EEA, the UK and Switzerland see a Google consent message where they can accept or decline; if you decline, only non-personalized ads can be shown. Cloudflare

We use Cloudflare for content delivery and security. It helps pages load quickly and protects the site from malicious traffic, and it may set technical cookies for these purposes. Cloudflare processes request data, such as your IP address, as part of delivering the site.

First-party visit statistics

Our own visit statistics run on our server and are not shared with an outside analytics service. Raw visit records are kept for 7 days, after which only daily totals remain.

Social profiles

We link to our Pinterest profile. When you follow that link you leave moraloflife.com, and Pinterest's own privacy policy applies to what happens there.

Managing cookies

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking some cookies may affect how parts of the site or its security features work.

4) Data Retention

• Raw visit records: kept for 7 days, then reduced to daily totals that do not identify you.
• Server logs: kept only as long as needed for security and troubleshooting.
• Contact messages: kept as long as needed to answer you and handle any follow-up, then deleted.
• Ratings and comments: kept with the recipe they relate to until you ask us to remove them or we remove them ourselves.

5) Your Rights Under the GDPR (EEA, UK and Switzerland)

If you are located in the EEA, the UK or Switzerland, you have the right to:

• access the personal data we hold about you;
• have inaccurate data corrected;
• have your data erased, where the law allows;
• restrict or object to certain processing;
• receive your data in a portable format;
• withdraw consent at any time, without affecting processing that took place before you withdrew it;
• lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

6) Your Rights Under the CCPA/CPRA (California)

If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information we collect, use and disclose; to request deletion or correction of your personal information; to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information; and to not be treated differently for exercising these rights.

We do not sell your personal information. Advertising cookies set by Google AdSense may count as "sharing" for cross-context behavioral advertising under California law. You can limit personalized advertising at https://adssettings.google.com. To make a request, use the Contact Us page. We may need to confirm your identity before acting on it, and you may use an authorized agent to submit a request for you.

7) Children's Privacy

Moral of Life is a general-audience recipe site and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has sent us personal information through a form, contact us and we will delete it.

8) Security

We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect the data we hold, including the security services provided through Cloudflare. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9) Links to Other Websites

Recipe pages and our social profile links may lead to other websites. We are not responsible for their content or privacy practices, and we encourage you to read their policies.

10) Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time, for example when our services or legal requirements change. The "Last updated" date at the top shows when the current version took effect. Please check back occasionally. Our Terms of use also apply to your use of the site.
